Pasing Centre and Station Square
The Pasing S-Bahn station and its surroundings have undergone fundamental changes in recent years. A northern bypass now relieves the Pasing town centre. The S-Bahn station has been extended to include a terminal and is now barrier-free. A new pedestrian and cycle path tunnel is part of an art concept for Pasing and surprises with a cloudy sky on blue tiles. 750 bicycles can be parked in the underground bike-and-ride facility and there are a further 400 parking spaces above ground. The Pasing Arcaden is a 21,000 square metre shopping centre that offers space for restaurants, offices and not least flats in addition to its shops and boutiques. These are located on the roof of the building and are accessible via landscaped courtyards. Opposite, the listed railway station from 1847 has been restored to its former glory and the historic brick building, designed by architect Friedrich Bürklein, is now used primarily for catering. The comprehensive redesign of this central location in the west of Munich was one of the most important urban redevelopment projects of recent times.
